How to use your Xtream Codes login in an IPTV player

Most IPTV providers give you an Xtream Codes login. Here's what the three parts mean and how to use them.

What an Xtream Codes login looks like

Your provider's welcome email usually has three things: a server address (for example http://example-provider.com:8080), a username and a password. Together they let a player load your live channels, TV guide, films and series, with posters and descriptions already attached.

If your email only has a long link ending in something like get.php?username=...&password=...&type=m3u_plus, that's an M3U link, but it contains an Xtream Codes login too: the part before /get.php is the server, and the username and password are in the link.

Add it to RIPTV

  1. Install RIPTV on your phone, tablet, Android TV or Fire TV: from Google Play, or the Amazon Appstore on a Fire TV.
  2. On the setup screen choose Xtream Codes.
  3. Enter the server address exactly as your provider gave it, including http:// and the port number if there is one.
  4. Enter your username and password, then choose Connect.
  5. RIPTV loads everything and builds your Home screen with Continue Watching, trending titles and your channels.

Why Xtream Codes is better than a plain playlist

  • Films and series come in their own sections with seasons and episodes, not as one long list of channels.
  • The TV guide (EPG) comes straight from your provider, including catch-up where your provider records channels.
  • Updates are quick: RIPTV only fetches what changed.

If it won't connect

  • Check the server address: a missing port (the :8080 part) is the most common mistake.
  • Try http:// instead of https://, or the other way round. Some providers only support one.
  • Make sure your subscription is active and you aren't already using all your connections on other devices.

A note on what RIPTV is

RIPTV is a player. It doesn't come with channels, films or series: you add the IPTV service you already subscribe to. Only use services you have the right to watch.

Questions

Is my IPTV password sent to RIPTV?

No. Your login stays on your device. When you copy it to a TV with Set up a TV, it's end-to-end encrypted so our server can't read it.

Can I add more than one provider?

Yes. You can add several logins and switch between them in Settings > IPTV provider.
