How to set up IPTV on a Fire Stick (step by step)

Everything you need to go from a fresh Fire Stick to watching your IPTV service with a full TV guide, films and series.

What you need

  • An Amazon Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube or Fire TV (any model from the last few years works).
  • Your IPTV login from your provider: either a server address, username and password (Xtream Codes), or a playlist link (M3U).
  • About five minutes.

Install RIPTV on the Fire Stick

  1. On the Fire Stick home screen, go to Find > Search and search for RIPTV.
  2. Choose RIPTV, then Get (or Download). It's free, from the Amazon Appstore.
  3. When it's installed, choose Open. The Appstore keeps it up to date from then on.

Prefer to install it yourself?

The Appstore is the easy way, but you can also sideload the version from riptv.app: install Downloader (by AFTVnews) from the Appstore, allow it to install unknown apps in Settings > My Fire TV > Developer options (no Developer options? open Settings > My Fire TV > About and press Select on your device name seven times), then open Downloader and enter the code 1519638.

Add your IPTV service

  1. Open RIPTV. Choose the server login (Xtream Codes) and enter the server, username and password, or choose M3U playlist and paste the playlist link.
  2. Typing with a remote is slow: if RIPTV is on your phone, scan the QR code on the TV instead and your phone sends everything across.
  3. RIPTV loads your channels, films and series and matches them with posters, descriptions and trailers.

Already set up on your phone?

If RIPTV is on your phone, open Profile > Set up a TV and enter the code shown on the Fire Stick. Your login, profiles, My List and settings are copied across, end-to-end encrypted, so there's nothing to type with the remote.

Tips for a smooth picture

  • Use the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band or an Ethernet adapter if channels buffer.
  • If live channels stutter, try the other Live TV stream format in RIPTV's Settings > Playback.
  • Keep the Fire Stick plugged into the power adapter it came with, not a TV USB port.

A note on what RIPTV is

RIPTV is a player. It doesn't come with channels, films or series: you add the IPTV service you already subscribe to. Only use services you have the right to watch.
